I'm also looking into buying some precious metals when they fall intraday
Karl Martin Comment by Karl Martin on July 8, 2008 at 12:36am
Due to the misplacement of money by the fed/treasury I believe it's best to prepare from their accounting errors...haha

For myself other than currency plays(for intraday $$$$)

I'm looking at ETF's that are based on both agriculture(selective fertilizer(bio friendly), etc...not monsanto, ADM, etc...)

Also green based ETF's

gold(I do own the ETF on gold:GLD)

I may buy silver:SLV
energy etf's I have USO(as a hedge against these ridiculous gas prices)
currency ETF's both dollar bullish(long term) and dollar bearish(short term)
I'm also looking at limited etf's on consumer staples and health care(if this 'recession' goes into overdrive)
Also ETF's/currencies of some companies that supply commodities to emerging markets.

When I buy ETF's I try to buy when they've retraced either the mid or 2/3's below the 52wk high(although this may be hard due to the rampant minipulation...)
But...ther are tons if swing opportunities using options
Karl Martin Comment by Karl Martin on July 7, 2008 at 12:06am
As Promised I've posted my next things of interest in ETF's for seeking higher yield in theGarvey group(it's also at theGarvey site).

I was gonna post it in the economics forum but I'm may be a little premature to post there as the conversation of bootleging Afrikans would make it quite hard on my psyche to help those who promote STEALING from our Afrikan family.

The "bootlegging" dialogue is in "Economics & Finance". The bootlegging refers to the unauthorized duplication and reselling of our scholars and activists lectures on CD's and DVD's. How much money was lost over the bootlegging of people like Dr. Clarke, Dr. Ben, Steve Cokely and others that use the audio & videotaping of their lectures as a main or primary source of income?

If people claim to come in the spirit of Ma'at, then where does bootlegging fit in Ma'at?

Now, that's old school....It hit home with me! I haven't read the blog, either.

Today's young folk use the term alot when referring to those who "bootleg", illegally distribute/sell movies, CD's, DVDs, tapes and music of various artists/lecturers, etc., and don't pay the originator a fee for distributing their original product for profit.

Brother Adilifu
did you see those two little white twin boyz 10 yrs old who were all over good morning america because they invented some velcro boxershort? they are making money hand over fist at 10. I think any mfg is good. A friend of mine who is a Ghanaian but living in ATL for over 25 years now, simply researched what are the staple items (beginning with food) that African countries import from non African countries. At first he wanted to feed Africa. As he got more into his research on costs to build factories and acquire manufacturing equipment - he decided to go home to Kumasi Ghana and spend some time there and then to spend time in Accra where he rarely visited since coming to the Snakes in 1979. He saw so many babies wearing disposable diapers just like here. The problem is that ALL of them are imported in Ghana and surrounding countries - even manufacturing the same things that we take for granted here offers vast opportunities if recreated on the mother continent. Have you ever thought of manufacturing Drawz in Africa? If you type 'business in ghana' in the search on YouTube you can see some of the entrepreneurs there and how their businesses create jobs and stimulate the economy there. Manufacturing is only on the decline in this country Not in the rest of the world...mass production has barely scratched the surface. The sky is the limit...

Manufacturing drawers. Now how many jobs can we produce just from making our own drawers?

To: Adilifu

Is there a business incubator in metro Atlanta with a manufacturing plant capability? I figured if we could find one (food, clothing or otherwise), could that put you back on track?

Response to Bro Shaka:
If you can read the small print on my Photo Icon it says, "Your Personal Tailor". I am already manufacturing clothing and i'm seeking others to join with me to develop product lines for market among us as a group and outside our group. Before i lost my home due to predatory lending i had developed and was producing a line of underwear called "DRAWZ!" I'm working my way back to that again.
While i agree with Min 8-Ball that food is a more important product for our survival, underwear has an advantage because 1) it is not burdened with spoilage, 2) they are simple to produce, and 3) they can be manufactured inexpensively. It is a product that everyone uses regularly and, as such, can be used to help finance our own reparations.
