We continue with our Autumn fund drive. We are wonderfully encouraged with the dozens of people who have passionately contributed to our endeavor. Some have been so generous that it is almost embarrassing to accept repeated offerings. Yet, the vast majority of our members have not yet made their commitment.
The fact is that nearly 90% of our current members will most likely NOT contribute a single cent to help us with our current expenses and projected growth. Thus there is the danger that, like so many other Black serving media outlets, that we may not survive without having to offer ourselves to outside economic forces.

3450 STRONG AND WE ARE READY FOR ACTION (For Real, This Time)

Not nearly as fast as we had envisioned, but nonetheless impressive, our membership continues to grow. There will come a point where we reach Critical Mass. From then we will be a force to cause change in the world, to empower agencies of our own creation and to bring a powerful mass together toward specific campaigns of empowerment.

But let us make no pretenses that we 1) don't already have enough active and engaged members to affect change; and 2) can't continue to show an enthusiasm for seeing the African Centered movement be the beneficiary of our deliberate efforts based upon Unity (Umoja) and Collective Work & Responsibility (Ujima).

A great people are not defined by their ability to shout loudly about the magnificent contributions of their ancestors. We are defined by how we are inspired by our great history to act today and everyday in similar manner toward the aim of group elevation. So let us renew our focus, redouble our efforts and concentrate our great resources on those tasks that define us as a people committed to the great challenges that define great nations.
