- Founder and President of the Nzinga Sisterhood Circle. i am looking for people who want to start the group in their community.
The Nzinga Sisterhood Circle was founded on the bases that there is mass segregation in the African Diaspora and a lack of tact, understanding and acceptant of cultures amongst its peoples. The sisterhood is not strictly for women. We receive a lot of participation and support from the brothers. Thus far, we have done our best to take the education of African culture and take it to the community through Ankh Study Sessions. These sessions serve as a meeting ground for cultures to expose themselves and for academic excellence. There are a series of sites throughout our community that hosts these sessions. Another event that is important to us is the Women of the African Diaspora, which showcases the struggles and lifestyles and beauty of being a part of the African Diaspora. The most important aspect of the event is the first hand testimonials from women instead of reading it or watching a documentary. We advocate holistic health care, HIV/AIDS awareness and testing, high education, family development and Diaspora unification. We are honored to have members from almost every part of the Diaspora. We hope that people will not judge or age or appearance and see what we are doing for our community.
